Christian is a Bioinformatics Analyst at the Allen Institute in Seattle, Washington, where he is part of the Immunology Data Apps team. Visualizing the Transcriptome at Unprecedented Depth with Atera
The field of spatial biology continues to advance at a rapid pace. The recently announced Atera platform from 10x Genomics allows for whole-transcriptome (>18,000 genes) in-situ sequencing, providing a high-resolution window into tissue composition. However, visualizing these massive data sets interactively raises computational challenges, particularly regarding memory management and rendering speed. To address these hurdles, we have leveraged powerful open-source tools that emphasize flexibility and scalability. This presentation will discuss data visualization tools from the Allen Institute, particularly their Spatial Transcriptomics Viewer with Atera and Xenium data.
